I wanted to compile a list of all of the frequently asked questions that I receive about blogging, food photography, and more! Lately, I've been receiving a lot of questions via instagram and facebook, so I thought it would be nice to list everything here! If there's anything you'd like me to answer, feel free to comment below and I'll respond to your questions!
Without question, my recipe for Peanut Curry Braised Ribs! They're seasoned with ginger, garlic and onion powder, a little cinnamon (trust me, it's delicious) and then topped with a peanut curry sauce. I also garnished the ribs with chopped mint leaves and crushed peanuts and red pepper. It's just amazing.
I have three recipes that are going neck to neck for the top spot - my Cajun Seafood Boil, Pink Starburst Shots, and Creamy Salmon Pasta!
Family, friends, my travels, and seasonal ingredients all inspire my recipes! I had this conversation with my friend Becky on her podcast "The Storied Recipe Podcast". I travelled a lot (pre-COVID) and often draw inspiration from my experiences, domestically and internationally, for the flavor profiles that I use in my recipes.
I use a Canon 5D Mark IV. To say that this camera is amazing is an understatement. I also use 50mm, 100mm, and 24-70mm lenses to shoot the majority of my photos. Everyday I learn something new about this camera because it does so much!
I started blogging on a whim in October 2019. I was literally sitting down on my couch and the name "Britney Breaks Bread" popped into my head. I had been making dinner on Instagram stories on my personal account and SO many people kept asking me for my recipes and saying how good the food looked. So, I made a separate instagram account, Britney Breaks Bread. A day or two later I made a wordpress account and started logging recipes there. It has been an amazing journey to say the least!
Lightroom to edit my photos. When I first started in photography, I used presets but have since moved away from doing so. This is not to say that presets are good or bad, but I have just decided to teach myself how to edit. I didn't like relying on presets to do the work for me.
Unquestionably, Burgers. I could eat a burger every single day of my life and never get sick of it. To me, Burgers are the perfect food!
I'm originally from Philadelphia, PA but now reside in the DC metropolitan area!
