Miso Prune Blondies with Chocolate Drizzle is a recipe that you'll never forget. It combines sweet California Prunes with salty miso paste and is such a flavorful treat. An unlikely combination of flavors but one that you will most certainly love! These blondies are so gooey and literally melt in your mouth. They have the consistency of a fudge but the texture of a blondie. It's a match made in heaven! Not to mention, when you add the chocolate drizzle on top, it really takes the flavor up a notch!
So let's chat a bit more about the ingredients of these Miso Prune Blondies. I used beautiful California Prunes which are not only delicious, but extremely nutritious! Prunes have a low glycemic index, support bone health, and they have a ton of fiber and antioxidants! Prunes are also in season year-round so you never have to worry about not being able to get them. What more can you ask?!
It's no secret, I've said it over and over again - sweet and salty flavors are my favorite! These blondies are no different! They're such a fun play on flavors that will really rock your tastebuds. I loved combining the miso with the prunes because it's such an unlikely pair. However, when I tell you it's amazing - it truly is. Miso Prune Blondies with Chocolate Drizzle take you on a ride. They kind of taste like salted caramel, but with a more nutty flavor. Almost like a brown butter blondie but ... better 🙂
So, this recipe is quite simple to make. (Check out the video below) I started by melting butter in a pot and then adding brown and granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and prunes. I brought all of these ingredients to a light boil and then blended everything in a food processor. Then I whisked together all of the dry ingredients and added them together. After that, I added eggs and water and mixed together. The batter is VERY heavy and dense. It's what makes the blondies so fudgy! Then you bake them for about 25-30 minutes and let them cool. Almost done! Melt down some chocolate and drizzle on top of the blondies with a piping bag or a spoon! Then eat up!

I was dubious about the flavor combination at first, but it worked out beautifully and makes 12 delicious blondies, with the flavor and consistency like salted caramel! Definitely recommend, especially to get more prunes in the diet, as they are a healthy snack. Putting full sugar according to recipe is a little much for me though, I recommend putting slightly less. Thanks for the great recipe though!!
