Spicy Sesame Hoisin Wings for national wing day! Firstly, I’m so happy that I remembered that today was National Wing Day because I will use any excuse to make wings. This recipe yields the most delicious and saucy wings that are so delicious! It’s slightly spicy (not too much) and slightly sweet with a ton of flavor.
Have you ever tried hoisin sauce? I was first introduced to hoison sauce when I had Pho. I remember after I tried it, I ate it on everything, especially chicken. These Spicy Sesame Hoisin Wings are an oldy, but always a goody!
Spicy Sesame Hoisin Wings, what more can I say? I love how easy these are to make and the result is fabulous. When you want wings and don’t really want to cook, this should be your go to recipe. It takes less time to make than it would for your to get takeout or delivery!
My favorite part about these chicken wings is the juxtaposition between the crunchy exterior with the sauce. Although these wings are saucy, they’re still crispy! Who doesn’t love a crispy chicken wing?
tips and tricks
- The recipe is already delicious, but if you like your chicken wings super spicy, add an additional teaspoon of red pepper flakes!
- Don’t be afraid to char the wings a bit while searing! When they go into the oven, the char adds so much flavor to the sauce!
- In my humble opinion, the green onions on top really make this recipe “pop”! It adds a beautiful freshness to the sauce and makes this dish such a treat to enjoy!
- I used a cast iron skillet because I love how it conducts heat and adds so much flavor to the dish! If you do not own a cast iron skillet, I highly recommend making the investment!
